Mr Birger Nergaard joins the Advisory Board

15 Feb 2018

We are very pleased and honoured that Mr Birger Nergaard has joined Investigate as an investor and Advisory Board member. Birger is also known as ‘Mr VC’ in Scandinavia, after pioneering the venture capital industry by establishing Four Seasons Venture (now Verdane Capital) in 1985. Birger was the CEO until 2006 and now serve as GP and Director. Birger brings vast amount of expertise and knowledge that will benefit both Investigate and its portfolio companies.

“It is exciting to be part of Investigate, both as an investor and Advisory Board member. Investigate has an approach and investment theme adjusted to the new tech start up reality where big data analysis and artificial intelligence are commodities, ‘off-the-shelf’ products, enabling companies to launch products and get profit much earlier than before, and grow at a much higher rate. I am equally excited to be part of this next chapter of venture capital - especially in South East Asia that is booming with interesting startups.” says Mr Birger Nergaard.

“Having such an experienced and successful person like Mr Birger Nergaard joining Investigate as an investor and Advisory Board member is a testament to what we are currently doing is on the right track. Having a person like Birger on board will ensure that this continues to be the case. We are very proud and grateful.” says Mr Mikael Krogh, Founder and Director of Investigate Network Capital.

"A dream come true"

31 Jan 2018

Investigate Network Capital (Investigate) had an official kick off at the Norwegian Embassy with investors, most of the Investigate team, and friends present both in person and over Skype from most parts of the world. The first three portfolio companies were also present, the founders presenting themselves and their companies.

“A dream come true!” exclaimed Mr Mikael Krogh, Founder and Director of Investigate Network Capital. “I am very grateful towards everyone that has supported this journey that is in its beginning - a big thank you to all of you.” he continues.

“This was a great way to kick off our fund that was formally established in December. I couldn’t be happier to have these three companies as the first investments - we have been digging through more than 150 companies the last six months in order to find these jewels. They truly represent our investment theme well and are already executing on the great potential they have. And with the excellent team we have gathered in Investigate we are well positioned to support these and more companies going forward.” says Mikael. “Best of all,” he continues “this is just the beginning!”

The three first investments of Investigate are:

  • DREA - an AdTech & Marketing Automation startup that lets SMEs do effective digital marketing and generate sales leads in a simple-to-use 4 Steps, 60 Seconds app (website)
  • Salary Board - is an information services company that offers SaaS solutions allowing companies and recruitment agencies research and compare HR analytics accurately and in real-time (website)
  • Parcel Perform - is a carrier-independent SaaS parcel tracking solution for e-commerce merchants worldwide, allowing them to improve their customer lifetime value by 40% through managing their customers' after-checkout experience and improving their overall logistics setup (website)

Even though all three companies are based in Singapore, they will have a truly global reach with their product offering.

"Adjust or die"

26 Sep 2017

Here is an interview done in connection with a talk Mikael Krogh did a couple of weeks ago about how connectivity change business. Mikael Krogh focused on how it changes business models and marketing.

Talk at NBAS event

21 Sep 2017

Norwegian Business Association (Singapore) (NBAS) and Innovation Norway (IN) were so kind to invite Mikael Krogh to do a talk about our connected world and how it redefines business.

Technologies and social media are radically changing and redefining businesses and industries. Consequently, every industry will face massive changes going forward. I will go into two aspects in particular - how it is changing business models and marketing:

a) The business model – how connectivity enables a network orchestrator business model which can have substantial impact on scalability, marginal cost, and profitability of the company

b) Marketing – how connectivity enables a conversation with clients and partners and changes the premise/rules of marketing

The event was at Fullerton Hotel (Singapore) Thursday, 21 September 2017, 8:30 AM. For more information see NBAS site.
